New Entry Sustainable Farming Project and Community Services Unlimited Inc. will host a one day training workshop to help community-based groups working in underserved neighborhoods understand how to develop successful grant proposals and projects for the USDA Community Food Projects Competitive Grants program (CFP). CFP makes available $9 million annually to non-profit organizations to support grassroots projects that meet the food needs of low-income communities while building self-reliance. Funded projects include market gardens, farmers markets, food policy councils, farm to school, veggie prescription programs, food hubs, community kitchens, business incubators and much more. The request for applications is expected in Fall 2017. Grants are made of up to $400,000 over a 4 year period.
