In September 2018, the Council for Watershed Health and LA Sanitation will host the State of the Watershed Symposium and convene elected officials, non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, academics, agency scientists and land managers to identify actionable next steps for creating a healthy and resilient watershed.  The 2018 Symposium will reflect on what we’ve accomplished, the important work that remains, and focus on fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders in achieving shared goals.

Council for Watershed Health (CWH), LA Sanitation, and the City of Burbank have monitored the LA River for 10 years. CWH will share the comprehensive story of the river’s condition, which includes water quality, habitat assessment, and aquatic health.

Panel discussions will create an opportunity for lively dialogue focused on identifying gaps in research, data, and regional efforts. The Symposium will conclude with actionable next steps that serve as the jumping-off point for efforts in the region.
